The seed of Encompass Films was born here. The Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia. One of the driest, saltiest places on Earth.
I was on a tandem bicycle headed south from Alaska, inviting strangers to share the ride on my spare seat. Nadia was exploring the Atacama and pondering why the hell she’d just become an attorney.
Fast forward 2 years and I find myself in the City of Angels. Nadia let me stay on her ‘couch’. That was the beginning of a string of love letters and Hollywood dreams.
A little after that we pedaled across the U.S. making a TV series with a colorful collection of folks. Nadia cut her teeth as a producer - it turns out a lawyer is just an overqualified producer after all.
Then she told me we should go to Egypt during the revolution. With my tandem. So we did.
I found myself wanting to look down the eye-hole of the camera and start pointing it at other people. So that's what we started doing.

In short, we point them at anyone that has a story to tell. And not a story about hucking themselves off some cliff (though that may be what they happen to be doing), but a story that cuts deeper. We’ve told stories about a lot of people. Long stories, short ones. Ones that are all logoed up and ones who’s only owners are the people that watch them.
